Will I ever be like them?
Ready?
Abu Hurairah that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "The life-span of those in my ummah is 60 to 70 years. And a very few of them will exceed this span."
(reported from Tirmizhi)

Suggested site for Maqasid Syariah:
Adding more 'value' to Duit Raya
Has it ever occur to you where kids come to your house to get ‘Duit Raya’?
Give them 1 RM or 2.. they’ll labelled you ‘kedekut’.
5RM?
Its too much for a total stranger (unless you have extra cash in your bank accound)..
What more they’ll tell their friends. Before you know it and a new swarm of kids will come to pay visit and sap away your money fast.
By the way, this is just a suggestion.
Giving money to kids is good. But why don’t we spend extra ringgit to print out and put in pieces of bookmarks with hadith/quotes inside the envelop .. along with the duit raya.
I belief the benefit is more - both for the ‘giver’ and ‘receiver’. I m sure the children won’t mind getting a ringgit or two, because they have already get something extra (bookmark and perhaps/hopefully... knowledge)
The ‘giver’, also will get continous benefit : Ilmu yg bermanfaat & diamalkan.
(^_^)
Silly me. I should’ve posted this entry earlier, considering Raya season is over and everybody is back to school.
Oh well..
Next raya, perhaps..
=)
p/s:
Oh.. beside bookmarks, stickers might also work as an alternative.

MULTILEVEL reward/punishment..

* * * * * * * *
I stumbled upon a blog post of a distant friend. I never know him much. Just a friend i met during few IMAM programs (i.e Islamic Medical Conference, Sunnathon.)
I must say i was at loss for words. The words was just simply plain direct. I could almost feel like it comes from myself. Truely this is one of most honest piece of writing i've ever read.
Oh i wish every muslim have the same fikrah as his..
One thing caught my attention though:
I was dumbfounded, feeling ashamed with myself.
I've lost my aim as i lived myself for 23 years, blinded by the world that lies before me.
What about me? Have i set up a date/year to die as a shahid?
... or have i even thought of being one (shahid)?
I remember during one of Usrah session with Pak Cik Husni, he told us how during his time he and his fellow usrah brothers were asked by their naqib about the age they wish to die as matyr.
Fortunately pakcik did not asked us directly. If the same question were asked, I think i'll need more time to answer.
I m calculating too much.
What about my family? At 35 perhaps i have wife and children to take care of? What about my career and other unfinished job? Lastly, my wealth?
Perhaps i do have love this world, somewhere in my heart.. .
Oh Allah forgive me for my wrong doings..
Forgive me for being ignorant.
(teringat hadith tentang al-wahnu)
I envy you Waqi. You have a clear vision and strong heart.
Before i ended this post, again i would like to quote from your blog:
"Jika saya diberi 5 kehidupan sekalipun, memiliki 5 pekerjaan yang berbeza, tinggal di 5 tempat yang berbeza, membesar dalam 5 suasana yang berbeza, saya hanya ingin memilih jalan ini, berjuang mencapai impian…dan jika diberi peluang untuk mencintai, saya ingin mencintai hati yang mendokong perjuangan diri. Cukuplah satu, semoga berkekalan hingga ke syurga. Memahami tanggungjawab dan melaksanakannya adalah lebih besar daripada segala-galanya. Dan pengorbanan adalah suatu perkara yang tidak dapat lari daripadanya. Firman Allah SWT, dalam Surah Al-An’am ayat 6;
Inilah jalanku, inilah impianku."
I'll pray for you as well as to all muslims out there to be perservere and steadfast in صبغة الله.
LAFAZ NIAT - Medan (platform) Syaitan memerangi golongan was-was.

(Ibn Qayyim, Ighathah al-Lahfan min Masaid al-Syaitan, halaman 144).

Tazkirah? ... er.. tak nak lah..
"Tazkirah?
Jika kita mendapati seorang penceramah yg kita rasa kagum dengannya, tirulah cara penyusunan ideanya. Tirulah gaya penyampaiannya.Tirulah memek mukanya. Tirulah lawak jenakanya.
3. Teknologi.
4. Teknik penyampaian
a. Jenaka
Apabila membuat analogy, berikanlah contoh yg ekstreme. Apabila sedang melakonkah situasi, lakonlah dengan memek muka yg melampau. Jangan segan.
b. Jangan monotonus.
c. Permudahkanlah. Gunakan analogy yg mudah difahami orang. Berikan contoh yg praktikal.
d. Interaktif.
Sahutlah seruan Rasulullah:
Ballighu 'anni walau aayah..

Beer Ban: Its all up to the cashier.
Headlines on 7th August 2009:
Arak: Selangor tidak larang (click)
It was stated that all premises, supermarket, and convinience store have to control and ban the selling of beer and liquor to muslims - THEMSELVES.
Question: How?
Let's assume the role as a customer here. I go to nearby 7-E. Walk in straight to the drinks section. Take a Carlsberg. Marched to the paying counter.
(Now here's the interesting part)
What's next?
Do you expect the casher will even dare warn me not proceed buying?Do you EVEN expect them to ask if i am a muslim (afterall some say i am chinese-looking)Heck. Even I am chinese, aren't there any chinese muslim around??
In terms of hierarchy cashers are the first line. They are the one will meet the customer. Hence they are the one most suitable to bear the responsibility to warn/ ban the selling of alcohol to muslims.
..and we all know that these cashers aren't capable of doing that.
First is because their level is even lower than that of the customer! "Customer is always right" is a well known motto in the business world. Sometimes these poor cashers are being scolded by customers without justice. In short. People undervalues cashers.Perhaps it is because of the level of education? Everybody has a common delusion (fixed false belief) that cashers comes from SPM graduates (with so-so result, or just waiting to be accepted into college). Plus, because it is seen all over the place, this same delusion has become something that is so deeply ingrained in the society and even happened to take place inside the casher mind himself!"Siapalah aku. Aku hanya seorang cashier"They have poor self esteem. Thus are they the one who best to work out this ban ruling?
Second is the age barrier. Almost all casher that i've seen are those around 20s. Rarely do i see casher in their 30s. Thus they will have problems to speak out (warn) their elder 'muslim' buyer. They must mouth out the words cautiously. If lucky, they'll be abused verbally. If not, perhaps a slap to the face, or worse being thrown out of jobs. What about their peer muslims, those of that aroung their own age?I would say this is more difficult. Those who drink alcohol are not likely to be the sopan, mendengar kata type. Right? Perhaps these group of people are more violent than theelderly buyer.Yes, these are all hypothetical situation that i myself created. It almost never happened anyway.
In short. Not practical. And the government is not serious to combat liquor and beer selling.I don't want to comment on the politics involved.
But if they are really serious, and they WANTED... they could've done better.
Yes, these are all hypothetical situation that i myself created. It almost never happened anyway.
..menggantikan kamu dengan kaum yang lain.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
“at 12:34:56 on 7th August 2009, the time and date will be 12:34:56 7/8/09 – 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9.... this will never happen in your life again.”
A got this SMS sometime around 00:25 on 7th August 2009. Similarly i’ve seen some posted on their Fbook status.
Humans sometimes can be funny creatures.
Time is an entity that they arbitrarily set themselves. Different watches will tell you different time. Even the time in News for different TV channel will show different time.
Well sometimes it just got me to think, what is the origin of time? Who ‘created’ time?
When the ‘first’ clock was invented, what would happen if there is delay one minute or one second? Wouldn’t the subsequent time be affected? ... and what is the ‘real’ time when the 1st clock is created? How does the ‘creator’ knows its 3’o clock? Maybe its 3.15? .. or 4 o clock? ..
Haha..
Anyway,
...so what is there to ‘celebrate’?
Maybe its just for fun..
.. or maybe (for i am being skeptic now), its the telecommunication corps cunning plan, creating new hype, sending waves of SMSes across the country, no .. the entire globe maybe..
..Anyway if they are the one who really ‘plan’ this, thats a very clever way to suck out consumers money. Nice job.
=)
Well... even if they are not the one who started the wave, the telecom corps surely should be thankful, to a certain degree.. to anyone who started in the 1st place.
p/s:
i really not sure why i posted this up.
Oh one more thing, forgot to mentioned, i believed the time that is referred to is 12:34 pm (tomorrow’s afternoon), not 12:34am (already past by the time i posted this blog entry).. haha..
So whoever send the SMSes reminder before 12:34am, surely they are giving the reminders a bit too early- although it is still acceptable..
=p
Amar munkar, Nahi ma`ruf
I was browsing through the blog for our batch. The latest entry caught my attention : Latest Carta Hot FM 30 Original Lagu "Free Fast Multiple-files-at-a-time" Download ”
One of the response to the post goes:
"hai..
carta lagu pun post kat blog?
I m not suprised there are people who commented back, crying out slur remarks
“ ek eleh orang post lagu pun kecoh”, klu tak suke dgr lagu duk je jauh2”..
Hmm...
I don’t mind much about people sharing hits top chart, but what bothers me, when people give reminder to each other, they retaliate, most probably ego-driven, starting smear campaign back to the first person who gives the reminder. What more this smear campaign has strong advocate (friends/clans) - loyal, persistent and relentlessly giving support.
Something that started off with a benign reminder can turned to something really nasty and significant, especially when it comes our action, as muslim.
Muslim are supposed to uphold the Amar Ma’ruf Nahi Munkar (enjoining good, forbidding evil). [at-Tawbah: 71]
I don’t know about others, but i kind of feel that what happened in above situation really reflects the ayat in the previous verse mentioned – in OPPOSITE.
I would say this is one of the situation where inappropriate words uttered be dangerous – you might thinking of joking, or perhaps trying to strike back with a simple excuse of ego defense mechanism (if that is the case, i would say it is a very immature defense mechanism).... whatever the reason is, do be careful as not put yourself in fitnah. You might be doing the opposite of what is being decreed upon you as muslim.
Yes some might say this is just a trivial matter.
Well as trivial as it might seems, the what will happen when if all muslims take a no-action-see- only stand in every single moment of their life?
"Whosoever of you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart – and that is the weakest of faith." Hadith in al-Bukhari
... whatmore the one who sees evil action, supported it, and disapprove good deeds...
Oh Allah save us from wrong deeds...
Do guide us to straight path.
Ameen..
What is my jihad..?

I was enjoying my dinner of chicken soup with Darwish at Talhah Stall when i caught a glimpse of Mr Hafiz (IIUM Orthopaedics Surgeon) on tv.
I couldn’t catch what it was about, but i seems that he is being interviewed and its like he is promoting a new technology or new product. He was on-air just for a second or two and unfortunately we weren’t paying much attention to the tv (by the time i turned myself to the tv he has ended his speech)..
Darwish, hardly surprised told me that Mr Hafiz is a renown figure in his field, delivering seminars, conducting research. He always tell his students “ This is our jihad! How long are we going to depend on US and other western countries.. . ?”

3 month in 11 – 21st April 2009, i went for an Umrah trip under FIMA (Umrah for Medical Students). There were about 40 delegates from 9 different countries; Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Indonesia, Palestine and of course Malaysia.
Among the people i’ve met, theres this chap name Bilal from Lebanon – a psychiatrist wannabe. He claimed that in Lebanon muslim psychiatrist is a rare species. I do not remember his exact words, but he did mentioned something about there’s not a single MUSLIM psychiatrist in his college (or was it the whole Lebanon?). Most of the psychiatrist are Christians. What more most of the syllabus and therapeutic methods are separated and secularized.
Thus he said it is his jihad to become a psychiatrist... and to develop an Islamic therapeutic methods to be assimilated in modern psychiatry...

Hmm..
What about us?
What is OUR JIHAD?
BonSweet Creme Caramel
I was craving for Dutch Lady Choclate drink after a ‘hot’ dish of chicken
soup.. undeniably Dutch Lady Choc is one of the best choc drink that i’ve ever tasted (my fav of course)...
As i sip the brown liquid down my throat suddenly it p
ops to my mind; "Aren’t there any muslim product, that are as good?.. in terms of its quality... the presentation..”(some products are good by the quality but the outer impression/pack design leaves the consumer in much doubt. As the saying goes, don’t judage a book by its cover.)
Actually i was thinking of any local born drinks that could match beverage icon such as Dutch Lady, Nestle e.t.c.. couldn’t think any... . then suddenly i remember one, al-Marai.. when i was in Saudi Arabia for Umrah for Medical Student program.
I remember the fruit juices are thick, natural taste, and cheap!
(i like strawberry, guava flavor). The layered fruit yogurt puding is also nice, one of its own kind (i’ve never found one in Malaysia).
Another nice dessert is BonSweet Crème Caramel. Again you don't find it in Malaysia.
My point is...
In Malaysia we could see in almost every shop, 7 E, they are selling ‘non-muslim’ products. Why can’t Malaysia help and promote Islamic product? I thought Malaysia is one of the leading example of Developing Islamic country. Why can't we import these great products to Malaysia?
Is is the quality we are talking about? The coffee and chocolate drink I would say comparable to Dutch Lady n Nestle products. In terms of the taste and presentation they are in par with those of other ‘western’ product.
Hmm.....
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is nearer to Malaysia than Europe and America ...and yet we are importing 'western' products?
