The air was tense with news of Dr Asri's arrest.
Thus it came to no suprise that many has opposed the move by JAIS, and show support for Dr Asri.
One such support was an article by Ustaz Maszlee Malik
(click here), a friend of Dr Asri (they both studied in Jordan). There was another written respond
(click here), by Ustaz Hasrizal, of whom that considered Dr Asri a dear friend.
I will not touch much on this issue as it has been extensively covered by the press.
But both article made me think and ponder.
Ustz Hasrizal's article was written such that, i could felt the honesty that flows with the words. There was balance in his admiration and criticism to Dr Asri.
Ustz Maszlee, being the President of Durham Univ. Islamic Society was very sharp of his criticism to JAIS and personnel involved.
They are all such great people, quick to respond in such situation. To uphold truth. Without personal benefit. They are the future leaders .
.. and that is what lies in front of us - the very next decade to come. That is when the batton is ready to passed on (like i have mentioned in last entry). For its the young people that shape the future of a country.
To be honest, i envy them. Each of them (Ustz Maszlee, Hasrizal, Asri) have their own charismatic appeal. Each of them have their own values and system of belief that they hold on to. .. and each of them could write very well, talk very well and inspired thousands, if not millions of others.
In stark contrast, i felt like struggling in finding my own values. I know i am here on earth to serve Allah. I know i must study and become great doctor (oh, Prof Fauzi is another person that i admired). I can't even write, or speak well, what more to influence & inspire others.
Will i ever be like them? (what more better)
*sigh*
I seriously need to reevaluate myself..
Well, i got 10 years to prepare..
